BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) is proud to announce the launch of its redesigned iOS and Android app. The new and improved application, named KDIGO Mobile, offers a modern user interface and intuitive user experience, and provides unfettered access to the KDIGO library of clinical practice guidelines for nephrology.

The redesigned app brings KDIGO’s evidence-based guidelines to doctors, clinicians, and health service providers across the globe for free. The app offers the global kidney community with an enhanced tool that brings nephrology recommendations to their fingertips.

With nearly 20,000 downloads globally on the Apple Store and Google Play Store, KDIGO’s original guideline app has proven to be a go-to resource for nephrologists and practitioners worldwide. Users of the former app are encouraged to download the new and improved version.

The improved app will launch in phases, with Phase I offering users access to the 9 published KDIGO guidelines in PDF format, PDF search in text, global PDF search across all documents, and guideline-specific resources and translations.

Users are able to select a guideline on the app dashboard, search the guideline for key terms, or search across all guidelines for those same key terms. Upon selecting a guideline, a user can navigate to the resources page where translations and ancillary links are organized. The user experience has been engineered to emphasize ease-of-use and navigability, but above all focuses on what users need most: guideline accessibility and improved search.

The application design and development was led by NYC-based, Capitol Foundry, a firm specializing in design-driven application development. Additional features and enhancements will be rolled out over the coming months.

The KDIGO Mobile app is now available for free on Apple Store and Google Play store.

KDIGO is a Belgian foundation committed to developing and implementing nephrology guidelines that improve patient outcomes on a global basis.
