(Brussels, Belgium) – – – KDIGO announced the launch of its first mobile application, providing KDIGO guidelines for free download to the Apple iPad. KDIGO Mobile puts KDIGO’s entire library of guidelines directly in the hands of clinicians anywhere in the world with the touch of a button.
“This app puts a wealth of kidney disease information conveniently in the hands of everyone around the world,” said John Davis, KDIGO CEO. He added, “Guidelines published as journal supplements are an important factor in guideline implementation; but this electronic, instantly searchable tool will make our guidelines much easier to reference as clinicians make decisions.”
A key to guideline implementation is ease of access. Instantly, KDIGO’s recommendations, based on a rigorous review of scientific evidence, can now be put to use in clinical settings anywhere in the world. Its users can search across all KDIGO guidelines for specific recommendations. Additionally, the KDIGO Mobile app provides clinicians with an environment in which they can easily take notes, highlight key recommendations, bookmark important pages, as well as pose questions and comments to others in the User Forum.
Dr. Bertram Kasiske, KDIGO’s Co-Chair said, “This app is another tool KDIGO is proud to provide to our colleagues. These guidelines contain very useful and current scientific evidence that has been intensely studied by expert work groups. We have always been sure of the validity of our guidelines. Now we are also sure that they can be easily accessed as well.”
Highlights of the KDIGO Mobile app include:
- Every KDIGO clinical practice guideline in a fully searchable format
- Related materials, including Controversies Conference reports & position papers
- Easy personalization features such as notation, highlighting, and bookmarks
- An interactive forum in which registered members can post comments and questions to fellow members
- Future iterations of the app will be compatible with the Apple iPhone and Android platform
KDIGO’s app can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store.
