We look forward to seeing you all in Vancouver for the KDIGO Controversies Conference on Kidney Disease and Heart Failure: Recent Advances and Current Challenges. We anticipate an exciting and productive meeting, and ask that you take a moment to read through the information below and the materials provided in the Resources section.

 

Meeting Venue & Agenda

The KDIGO Conference on Kidney Disease and Heart Failure will take place at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver from Thursday, March 21 to Sunday, March 24, 2024.

As per the agenda in the Resources section, the meeting will kick off with a Welcome Reception on Thursday, March 21 from 18:00 hrs. The conference itself will begin on Friday morning, March 22 at 09:00 hrs, and wrap up on Sunday, March 24 at 12:00 hrs. A group dinner is also planned for Saturday evening, March 23, and spouses, guests are welcome to attend both the opening reception and group dinner.

Note that sponsor participants are permitted to attend all social events and conference proceedings except for the breakout group discussion sessions on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

Room Reservations

KDIGO has secured a room block at the JW Marriott Parq and has made room reservations on behalf of all conference attendees. There is no need for you to contact the hotel directly. If you have not done so already, kindly send in your itinerary once travel has been booked. Please also be sure to let KDIGO know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, visa requirements, or if a guest will be accompanying you. If you have already provided your travel details, your room is reserved accordingly at the JW Marriott Parq, and a confirmation email either has been or will be sent by the hotel.

 

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers are not pre-arranged by KDIGO. Taxis are readily available at Vancouver Airport and offer a convenient option for transportation to and from the JW Marriott Parq. Most taxis accept payment by credit card, but it’s best to ask the driver before you get in. Uber is also available at the airport and throughout the city.

 

Social Events

The conference will kick off with a Welcome Reception at the JW Marriott Parq from 18:00 hrs on Thursday, March 21.

 

On Saturday, March 23, KDIGO will host a dinner for all conference attendees, sponsors, and guests. Please meet in the lobby of the JW Marriott Parq at 19:30 hrs on Saturday, March 23 to walk to the Blue Water Cafe. It is a 12 minute walk from the hotel. No RSVP is necessary.

 

Reimbursements

The KDIGO Travel Protocol & Reimbursement Form is included in the Resources section to help facilitate your planning and booking for this trip. As noted, KDIGO will reimburse attendees for standard economy class plane tickets and other conference-related expenses after the meeting concludes. Should your standard economy airfare exceed USD $2000.00, please contact KDIGO for approval. KDIGO will cover accommodation costs directly, however hotel incidentals such as minibar or laundry will need to be paid for personally.

Sponsor participants cover all expenses personally, including accommodation and airfare.
