If you have not done so already, kindly send in your itinerary once travel has been booked. Please also be sure to let KDIGO know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, visa requirements, or if a guest will be accompanying you. If you have already provided your travel details, your room will be reserved accordingly at the Divani Palace Acropolis and a confirmation number will be provided a week or so prior to the conference.
Airport transfers are not pre-arranged by KDIGO. Taxis are readily available at Athens Airport and offer a convenient option for transportation to and from the Divani Palace Acropolis Hotel. Many Athens taxis do accept credit cards, but not all are equipped with the POS system needed to do so. It’s best to ask your driver before beginning your journey and having cash with you just in case. Additional information on taxis from Athens International Airport can be found here. Uber is also available at the airport and throughout the city.
As of May 1, 2022, all Covid-19 entry regulations for Greece have been dropped, so you do not require a proof of vaccination or a negative test in order to travel to Athens. If you require a Covid test for your return journey home please let us know. A useful International Travel Requirements Map provided by Allianz can be accessed here.
The KDIGO Travel Protocol & Reimbursement Form is included in the Resources section to help facilitate your planning and booking for this trip. As noted, KDIGO will reimburse attendees for standard economy class plane tickets and other conference-related expenses after the meeting concludes. Should your standard economy airfare exceed USD $2000.00, please contact KDIGO for approval. KDIGO will cover accommodation costs directly, however hotel incidentals such as minibar or laundry will need to be paid for personally.
