We look forward to seeing you all in Athens for the KDIGO Controversies Conference on Women and Kidney Health. We anticipate an exciting and productive meeting, and ask that you take a moment to read through the information below and the materials provided in the Resources section.
Meeting Venue & Agenda
The KDIGO Women and Kidney Health Conference will take place at the Divani Palace Acropolis Hotel from Thursday, February 2 to Sunday, February 5, 2023. As per the agenda in the Resources section, the meeting will kick off with a Welcome Reception on Thursday, February 2 from 18:00 hrs. The conference will begin in earnest on Friday morning, February 3 at 09:00 hrs, and wrap up on Sunday, February 5 at 12:00 hrs. A group dinner is also planned for Saturday evening, February 4, and spouses, guests are welcome to attend both the opening reception and group dinner.

Room Reservations
KDIGO has secured a room block at the Divani Palace Acropolis and is making room reservations on behalf of all conference attendees. There is no need for you to contact the hotel directly. If you have not done so already, kindly send in your itinerary once travel has been booked. Please also be sure to let KDIGO know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, visa requirements, or if a guest will be accompanying you. If you have already provided your travel details, your room will be reserved accordingly at the Divani Palace Acropolis and a confirmation number will be provided a week or so prior to the conference.
Airport Transfers
Airport transfers are not pre-arranged by KDIGO. Taxis are readily available at Athens Airport and offer a convenient option for transportation to and from the Divani Palace Acropolis Hotel. Many Athens taxis do accept credit cards, but not all are equipped with the POS system needed to do so. It’s best to ask your driver before beginning your journey and having cash with you just in case. Additional information on taxis from Athens International Airport can be found here. Uber is also available at the airport and throughout the city.
Social Events
COVID Testing
As of May 1, 2022, all Covid-19 entry regulations for Greece have been dropped, so you do not require a proof of vaccination or a negative test in order to travel to Athens. If you require a Covid test for your return journey home please let us know. A useful International Travel Requirements Map provided by Allianz can be accessed here.
Reimbursements
The KDIGO Travel Protocol & Reimbursement Form is included in the Resources section to help facilitate your planning and booking for this trip. As noted, KDIGO will reimburse attendees for standard economy class plane tickets and other conference-related expenses after the meeting concludes. Should your standard economy airfare exceed USD $2000.00, please contact KDIGO for approval. KDIGO will cover accommodation costs directly, however hotel incidentals such as minibar or laundry will need to be paid for personally.
