KDIGO recently updated its CKD-MBD Guideline and is actively working to bring the latest recommendations to clinicians around the world. As part of this initiative, KDIGO held a CKD-MBD Guideline Implementation Summit in Japan with thought leaders from across Asia.
The Implementation Summit was held in Tokyo, Japan on April 27-29, 2018. Representatives from developed countries in Asia gathered together to help KDIGO more robustly implement the new guideline recommendations, and advance the treatment of patients with mineral and bone disorders.
The conference included plenary presentations followed by structured and moderated discussion of the medical landscape for CKD-MBD in Asia, the economic and regulatory situation, and strategies for overcoming barriers to better care. The group also identified next steps in implementation of the updated CKD-MBD Guideline.
The CKD-MBD Implementation Summit was co-chaired by Masafumi Fukagawa of the Tokai University School of Medicine, Japan, and Angela Wang of the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
