KDIGO and AvoMD Partner to Make Leading CKD Expertise Actionable at the Point of Care
BRUSSELS, Belgium — Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO), in partnership with AvoMD, a next-generation, application-based clinical decision support platform, are working together to transform KDIGO Guidelines into actionable, instant guidance at the point-of-care. The partnership will begin with the KDIGO Blood Pressure in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Guideline, with plans underway to host additional KDIGO Guidelines in the future.
CKD affects more than 1 in 7 US adults; the growing prevalence of the disease has created a public health crisis and significantly contributed to the rise in overall healthcare spending in the US and globally. With delayed or episodic access to specialty care and know-how, kidney disease often gets worse over time and may lead to kidney failure and other chronic health conditions.
The KDIGO/AvoMD offering – which will be available free of charge on AvoMD’s web and mobile apps and accessible in the Electronic Health Record – supports and strengthens the ability of nephrologists and primary care providers to provide critical CKD services in various care settings. The tool empowers all clinicians, and especially primary care providers, to easily deliver evidence-based CKD care, tailored to individual patient needs. Provider organizations will have the ability to use AvoMD’s no-code content management tool to customize the offering for local needs.
John Davis, KDIGO CEO, commented; “KDIGO is excited to partner with AvoMD, whose cutting-edge platform will serve as an ideal place to access KDIGO CKD Guidelines. Our shared aim is to enable clinicians to easily and readily access the latest science and clinical recommendations. Expanding access to KDIGO Guidelines in this way will, we believe, translate into improved patient care.”
AvoMD co-founder and CEO, Dr. Yair Saperstein commented: “We are thrilled to partner with KDIGO, the global authority on evidence-based guidelines for kidney disease. Fusing KDIGO guidelines with AvoMD’s point-of-care technology allows providers to access deep CKD expertise instantly at the bedside, benefiting both clinicians and patients. We are excited to provide this offering to our growing base of health system customers and clinician users.”
