We look forward to seeing you all in Panama City for the KDIGO Controversies Conference on Therapies Targeting B Cells in Immune-Mediated Kidney Diseases. We anticipate an exciting and productive meeting, and ask that you take a moment to read through the information below and the materials provided in the Resources section.

 

Meeting Venue & Agenda

The KDIGO B Cell Conference will take place at the InterContinental Miramar Hotel from Thursday, June 26 to Sunday, June 29, 2025.

As per the agenda in the Resources section, the meeting will kick off with a Welcome Reception on Thursday, June 26 from 18:00 hrs. The conference itself will begin on Friday morning, June 27 at 09:00 hrs, and wrap up on Sunday, June 29 at 12:00 hrs. A group dinner is also planned for Saturday evening, June 28, and spouses, guests are welcome to attend both the opening reception and group dinner.

Note that sponsor participants are permitted to attend all social events and conference proceedings except for the breakout group discussion sessions on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

Room Reservations

KDIGO has secured a room block at the InterContinental Miramar and has made room reservations on behalf of all conference attendees. There is no need for you to contact the hotel directly. If you have not done so already, kindly send in your itinerary once travel has been booked. Please also be sure to let KDIGO know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, require any documentation in order to obtain a visa, or if a guest will be accompanying you. If you have already provided your travel details, your room is reserved accordingly at the InterContinental Miramar, and a confirmation email will be sent a week or so prior to the conference.

 

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers are not pre-arranged by KDIGO. Taxis are readily available at the Tocumen International Airport (PTY) and offer a convenient option for transportation to and from the InterContinental Miramar.  Please click here for taxi information, as well as other airport transfer options. Uber is also available.

 

Social Events

The conference will kick off with a Welcome Reception at the InterContinental Miramar from 18:00 hrs on Thursday, June 26.

 

On Saturday, June 28, KDIGO will host a dinner for all conference attendees, sponsors, and guests. Please meet in the lobby of the InterContinental Miramar at 19:30 hrs on Saturday, June 28 to walk to Adama Restaurant. It is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and no RSVP is necessary.

 

Reimbursements

The KDIGO Volunteer Travel Protocol & Reimbursement Form is included in the Resources section to help facilitate your planning and booking for this trip. As noted, KDIGO will reimburse attendees for train fare or standard economy class plane tickets, and other conference-related expenses after the meeting concludes. Should your standard economy airfare exceed USD $2000.00, please contact KDIGO for approval. KDIGO will cover accommodation costs directly, however hotel incidentals such as minibar or laundry will need to be paid for personally.

Sponsor participants cover all expenses personally, including accommodation and airfare.
