The KDIGO Genetics in Kidney Health Summit took place in Chicago, Illinois from September 25-26, 2025. This summit built upon the findings of the KDIGO Controversies Conference Genetics in CKD held in March 2021. That conference report is available here.
To further develop these principles into practical strategies, KDIGO held an educational summit to discuss the growing role of genetics in nephrology and the need for wider genetic testing adoption in the United States. This invitation-only summit was chaired by Dr. Ali Gharavi (Columbia University Medical Center), Dr. Anjay Rastogi (University of California, Los Angeles), and Dr. Xiangling Wang (Cleveland Clinic).
