Rome, Italy November, 2023
The KDIGO Controversies Conference on Maintaining Kidney Health and Preventing CKD brought together a global panel of patients and individuals with multidisciplinary clinical and scientific expertise, including nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology, pediatricians, pharmacology, and primary care to identify key issues in preventing CKD. This conference explored the current CKD definition and ways to identify and stratify individuals for CKD prevention. This conference also addressed pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches to preventing CKD.
Drs. Alberto Ortiz (Fundación Jiménez Díaz, Spain) and Katherine R. Tuttle (University of Washington, USA) co-chaired this conference.
KDIGO would specifically like to thank the ERA for their partnership, and for bringing this novel topic to KDIGO.
