KDIGO is pleased to share the on-demand recordings from the 2026 Guideline Education Meeting (GEM): From Kidney Disease Prevention to Averting Progression and Complications. Held in collaboration with Tokushukai Medical Group and the World Congress of Nephrology in Yokohama, Japan, the event brought together an outstanding international faculty to address key challenges in kidney disease prevention, progression, and management. Several faculty served as KDIGO Guideline Co-Chairs or Work Group members, offering direct insight into both the evidence base and its real-world clinical application.
KDIGO was honored to partner with Tokushukai Medical Group, one of Japan’s largest integrated healthcare systems, on a program that reflected a shared commitment to advancing kidney care through education and global collaboration. The meeting was organized with the support of Yusuke Tsukamoto, MD (Japan), a former KDIGO Executive Committee Member and longtime KDIGO volunteer, who opened the meeting with Michel Jadoul, MD (Belgium), former KDIGO Co-Chair and current Treasurer. The program began with a keynote address by Shuzo Kobayashi, MD (Japan), Executive Managing Director of Tokushukai Medical Group.
The full-day program provided an in-depth exploration of recommendations from multiple KDIGO Guidelines, including the Anemia, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Diabetes and CKD, and Glomerular Diseases Guidelines, as well as exclusive early insights from the forthcoming KDIGO Heart Failure in CKD Guideline. The program also included a special presentation from Dr. Kobayashi, as well as dedicated sessions on ANCA-associated vasculitis, IgA nephropathy, and lupus nephritis.
These recordings provide a valuable opportunity to learn from global experts and explore how KDIGO guidance translates into real-world clinical practice. Watch the on-demand program.
